At first, this didn't seem to have a big impact. A wilted plant for a small spell. This changed with [[The Introduction of the Retrievers]] and subsequently the [[Defenders]]. As these devices became more widespread, they began leaching the life out of the region. Newer TechWiz technologies places even greater demand on the land. Even after the [[Collapse of the TechWiz Consortium]], the blight continued to slowly spread until the Cataclysm. There was one place that was untouched. The area around [[The Whispering Tree]] remained untouched by the ravages of the blight. The tree seemed to have a magic that protected everything in a two mile radius.
