Long ago, a person from the east claimed to have seen the [[Children of the Forest|Children]]. This person was a member of the [[Teapot People]], so named because many of their aesthetic choices - from buildings to headwear- echoed the shape of a tea pot. The children used their magic to call a giant spear down that cracked the land, separating the east from the rest of the continent and creating the [[Rift River]]. The [[Teapot People]] were essentially imprisoned on their new land and were magically monitored by the [[Children of the Forest|Children]]. They erected statues of the [[Children of the Forest|Children]] all over their land in hopes of appeasing their captors, but to no avail.
