Highly self medicated and when high - is totally normal and kind of affectless. But in the service, he had to do a stint away where he didn't have access to chemicals and kinda lost it. He's now a low-level dealer and does odd jobs. **Vice Detail** I'm an alchemist that is always high on my own supply. **Looks** bean is about as bland and average a guy you can imagine.Like a younger Al Bundy. **Motivation** bean is borderline psychopathic and sees the invasion as an opportunity to cause chaos and death and be praised for it. "I could get a medal for blowing up a bunch of shitheads? I'd do that for shits n giggles." **Quirks** - Bean has a special affinity for a specific Starwhal - Bean likes to set traps --- > [!NOTE]- **Backstory** > Bean grew up an orphan, drifting without direction until he was taken in—loosely—by an older girl he came to see as a sister. She taught him how to survive, and more importantly, how to make a crude stimulant she called “medicine.” Bean took to it immediately. Over time, he refined the formula, becoming both dependent on it and unusually tolerant of its effects. To him, it isn’t a drug—it’s something he _needs_ to function. > > With no clear path in life, Bean enlisted in the military during peacetime, hoping structure might stabilize him. Instead, it exposed his talents. He showed a natural aptitude for chemistry, particularly explosives, and thrived in controlled demolition and unconventional tactics. When dosed, he was calm, efficient, and eerily emotionless—an ideal soldier on paper. > > That stability collapsed during an extended field exercise where he ran out of his “medicine.” Withdrawal hit hard. Desperate, Bean abandoned his post to forage for ingredients, attempting to recreate the compound in the wild. He failed. When he eventually returned, he was erratic, insubordinate, and mentally unstable. He refused orders, lashed out, and was ultimately discharged. > > Now back in civilian life, Bean keeps a low profile. He scrapes by as a small-time dealer and takes odd jobs, using his alchemical skills to stay afloat. Despite everything, he still clings to the belief that his drug is necessary—and that without it, he’ll fall apart completely. > > Beneath his flat demeanor is a dangerous mindset. Bean lacks strong empathy and is drawn to chaos, especially when it can be justified. The current invasion, to him, is an opportunity: a chance to unleash destruction on clearly defined “bad guys” and be rewarded for it. In his mind, violence becomes purpose—and recognition becomes redemption. "I could get a medal for blowing up a bunch of shitheads? I'd do that for shits n giggles." > > The only thing that truly matters to him is his missing “sister.” She disappeared after moving to another city, and he hasn’t heard from her since. He owes her everything and quietly fears what might have happened to her. Finding her is the closest thing Bean has to a personal anchor. > > Until then, war offers him something simpler: a reason to do what he’s always been good at—and maybe, this time, be called a hero for it. > [!NOTE]- Associations > ![[MasterBase.base#Associations]]
