They grew up in the slums near the shipyards and joined the union to ensure that the community wouldn't be destroyed by the industry. **Vice Detail** I like the idea of worshipping some forgotten god. Something a little eldritch. I don't think they would proselytize, but maybe has a fascination with hoarding relics related to the god, and trying to decode secrets from those artifacts. **Looks** Wiry, Slightly unkempt, androgyne. Like a older, less manic version of Ed from Cowboy bebop. Tends to be seen in work overalls and some protective gear (thinking leather smock, gloves, and maybe goggles.) **Motivation** I have a strong sense of community, and want to re-build and empower the community, even in the face of war. **Quirks** - Bryn likes to pull cheeky pranks - Bryn had purchased a child's toy slingshot to launch their alchemical bombs --- > [!NOTE]- **Backstory** > Bryn grew up in a fishing family along a quiet, fog-heavy coastline, where the sea was less a resource and more a presence—watched, respected, and never fully understood. Their first exposure to alchemy came through a reclusive practitioner in the village, someone who traded solvents, oils, and strange reagents to fishermen in exchange for rare catches and stranger stories. > > At first, the work was entirely practical. Bryn learned how to mix compounds that stripped barnacles from hulls, preserved rope and sailcloth, and dissolved the stubborn growths that tangled nets and choked livelihoods. But over time, the lessons began to drift. The alchemist spoke less in instructions and more in suggestion, where formulas blurred into metaphor and processes took on the shape of ritual. Between teachings, they introduced Bryn to quiet references of something deeper—something called the one who lurks. > > When Bryn eventually left for the city, they carried both trades with them. In the shipyards, they became a specialist in industrial solvents, someone valued not just for technical skill but for knowing how to apply it safely in a place where mistakes could cost lives. They aligned themselves with the union, driven by a need to protect the workers and ensure that industry did not consume the very community it depended on. > > At the same time, Bryn never abandoned what they had begun to learn. In private, they continued their experiments, following half-understood teachings and testing the limits of what solvents could reveal or erase. What began as a practical craft had become something else entirely—an approach to understanding the world by stripping it down, layer by layer, in search of whatever truth might lie beneath. > [!NOTE]- Associations > ![[MasterBase.base#Associations]]
