The spirits can be felt and there is a large blood stain above the cave. > Disover - An ancient bridge of stone crossing the river > > **Week 3** > The kids have a game of seeing who can venture further into the bloodstain before losing their nerve. They plant flags to mark how far they have come. A brave boy names Samuel makes it all the way to the the middle and discovers a hatch - a stone slab with a metal handle > Discussion - Should we try to open it? > > **Week 4** > There is another community in the forest living in a treetop village, called the Tree Folk > Discussion- Should we try and find the source of the river toxin? > > **Week 5** > There is a large willow tree at the edge of the cliff, next to the river. It is considered the most beautiful thing. > Researchers have finished figuring out how to purify the river water. > Discover- [[Forest Oxen]] are aggressive > > **Week 6** > An unexploded bomb is found near the forest > Project - The Water Detoxification construction begins > > **Week 7** > Food in the Meal House is running out. There is no good way of prepping food with the existing resources > Project- Begin domesticating the Forest Oxen for food and labor. Ranger Root is in charge of the project. > > **Week 8** > A local man, Albin, falls in the river and goes over the cliff. He is surprisingly unharmed. He saw a vision in the waterfall foam of a rising sun and they all take it as a good omen. > Project - They begin cutting stone steps into the cliff. This project is led by the chief builder, George. > > **Week 9** > Some of the kids seem to be immune to the river toxin. The call themselves the [[Poison Lords]] and are led be [[Samuel]]. > Discover - While on the oxen project, Ranger Root discovers a strange hole in the forest. It is filled with absolute darkness and doesn't seem to have a bottom and is called the Black Hole. > > **Week 10** > Some large lanky bipedal creatures, called [[Shadow Walkers]], have been spotted in the forest. They are very quick and elusive. They seem to be few and keep to the forest, but are also very dangerous. > [[Ranger Root]] has finished his project and can now capture and train the Forest Oxen. > Project - A few teams are organized for Goalball to be played in the coliseum. They being practicing for a public match > > **Week 11** > There are three elders who are over 100 years old. They are too frail to walk and are carried around town by a palanquin with a rotating team of four palanquin carriers. Their names are One, Two and Three. It's not clear who is who and it might even change form day to day. > The Water Detoxification Project is completed. There is not an abundance of water and the Poison Lords lose their prestige. > Project - Ranger Root endeavors to kill a Forest Ox for food. > > **Week 12** > An ambitious and charismatic scholar named [[Claribelle]] begins campaigning for support to disassemble the bomb. Among her supporters are Albin, Two, and Three. > The stone steps are finished, though they were a little rushed. The are right next to the waterfall and are wet and uneven. > Discussion - While we all like Claribelle, her project is dangerous. > > **Week 13** > A stranger washes ashore. His name is Tiresius and he claims to be a sailor from very far away. > Goalball game takes place. It's the Oxen vs. the Fish. People love it and some betting takes place. > Discover- There are ominous storm clouds on the horizon. > > **Summer** > **Week 14** > A diplomatic campaign, led by Ranger Root, is begun with the Tree Folk, with the intention of using their structures to hunt the Forest Oxen. > Discover- The exposed hatch begins glowing with a blue light only visible at night. > > **Week 15** > A spiked barrier is constructed along the forest's edge to protect from the Shadow Walkers and and stray Forest Oxen. > Discover - Blue light is also coming from the cave below > > **Week 16** > George, who led the stone step project, begins work on the Ox Shrine, a stone structure built out of Ox bones. Many consider this a foolish project. > Project - Henry Jones, who fashions himself an explorer (though he has no experience), decides to lead an expedition of five into the caves. > > **Week 17** > Claribelle finished her bomb project earlier than expected when she finds that the controls are still powered. She is able to remove the power source and plans to use it for... something. > Negotiations with the Tree Folk turn bad and Ranger Root's dead body is tossed over the spiked fence. > Henry Jones's cave expedition does not return. > Discover- The ruins of a large ancient tower have been repurposed as a living space > > **Week 18** > A ship arrives and anchors a little distance from the cliffs. A group of 10 people row ashore. They have stick-like weapons that can fire a blue light that burns. They're all sick and weak > Discussion - What should we do with the newcomers? > > **Week 19** > A graveyard is begun, with Samuel and the other children doing the digging. The children decide to intentionally do a bad job. > Discover - Blue light is now emitting from the Black Hole in the forest > > **Week 20** > People have been seeing some blue glowing humanoid creatures at night. They don't seem to do much apart from occasionally stealing some supplies. > Discussion: We should capture one of these creatures > > **Week 21** > The Water Detoxification machine fails and water is once again scarce. > A large blue glowing monster with the face of Henry Jones, rampages through town, killing a few of the people by taring them apart in a rage of blood and blue sparks. It is known as Blue Henry. > > **Week 22** > Some of the more xenophobic townspeople ambush and murder one of the sailors. The other sailors don't seem to mind. > Project: Dr. Mortimer wants to try and study Blue Henry. > > **Week 23** > Root's (RIP) partner, Silas decides to hunt down the source of the river toxin by himself. > Project: With all the various outside threats, they begin to expand and fortify the old tower. > > **Week 24** > Project: A military training facility is set up. The goal ball teams are turned into military units. > Project: A pulley system on the cliffside is being constructed to facilitate bringing fish and stone into town > > **Autumn** > **Week 25** > A storm rages through. The townspeople remain safe, but the anchored ship is destroyed. > Discover: The forest gate in the fence is left open and a Shadow Walker makes it in. It kills one of the blue people > > **Week 26** > Henry's body is found outside the caves with no apparent cause of death. > The pulley system is completed. > Discover: Silas finds the source of the toxin. A large plant is living in a pool connected to the river. It is a giant stalk with emerging from the water. It is emitting a blue glowing substance into the water. > > **Week 27** > Another hatch is discovered some distance from the first one. Some excavation leads to the discovery that it is the top of a building that is underground. > Dr. Mortimer is able to determine that Blue Henry is a creature of intelligence and thinks he can possibly communicate with it. > Project - An expedition is mounted to explore the cave > > **Week 28** > There is a great fish harvest as the Sea Trout (from another RPG session) arrive to spawn. > Silas kills the toxic plant, although he is tainted by the poison. > A woman archer troop finishes training. > Discussion - Should we go on the offensive against some of the threats or stay defensive? > > **Week 29** > A horde of locusts is approaching, eating everything in its path. > The tower fortifications are completed. > Discover: The willow tree is starting to wither as the river water changes > > **Week 30** > The first baby born in the settlement dies from sickness. Many blame the mother. There is a tiny grave for the baby in the graveyard. > Project: Start building a hospital > > **Week 31** > Elder Three wants to lead a force against the Forest Folk. His supporters carry him on his Palanquin that has been outfitted with some spears. > Project - Dr. Montgomery, Mortimer's brother, begins work developing a spray to kill the locusts > > **Week 32** > The cave expedition reports back. There is a tribe of people in the cave and they speak the same language. They are just trying to survive. The blue glow seems to have some kind of intelligence and harbors no animosity. It too is trying to survive and seems indifferent to any suffering it might cause. The relationship with Blue Henry is unknown. > Discussion - What to do about the blue glow. > > **Week 33** > The community is divided on what to do about the blue glow. > There is also division concerning Three's invasion of the Free Folk. An argument takes place, and the military action is stopped. For now. > Project: Claribelle begins a project to use the power source (which has a yellow glow). She plans to create a protective energy field to keep enemies at bay. > > **Week 34** > A disease breaks out amongst the population. > Dr. Montogmery finishes a spray to kill the locusts but it is only 50% effective. > Discovery: A man is murdered by his wife by being pushed into the river. The tragedy does reveal that the drinking water is safe to drink. > > **Week 35** > Claribelle changes her project from a defensive shield to and offensive weapon. > Project: Dr. Gean Joodall begins a science project to study and categorize the local fauna. > > **Week 36** > The town decides to invest more time in the hospital so that it may be even better equipped to handle the disease that is still spreading through the population. > Discovery: While out on an expedition near the Black Hole, Silas witnesses a battle between the Blue People and the Shadow Walkers. > > **Week 37** > It is revealed that Elder One has been lying to everyone all along. He can actually walk and has also been secretly sabotaging the community. He is confined to a room and will not talk about his motivations. > Discussion: Should One be allowed to live? > > **Winter** > **Week 38** > The Frost Shepherds arrive. Game is over > > --- >
