The crew infiltrates the military occupied school to get intel on the projects. They sneak past the security of the school through the steam tunnels that exist underground - a feature known to the students but not the Empire. When they get there they split into 2 parties. Langham distracts Dr. Jax while Darius steals notes and files from his office. Darius also meets Wilson, a very good boy. Danya, Esh and Bryn explore the basement and find a number of projects in progress. Bryn checked out a chemistry station where a more potent form of Bliv seemed to be in development. Danya examined the partial carcass of a Starwhal and removed its horn for unknown purposes. Esh wound up being confronted by a zombie on a mortuary slab. Some guards showed up. Darius entered the scene after his encounter upstairs and quickly rushed one of the guards, who blew out his buddy's brain on accident. With the guards dispatched. they were easily able to make their way back to the tunnels and make their escape. In the end, Bryn was buzzed on Bliv, Esh was drunk on whiskey, Langham was spaced from trance powder, and Darius was woozy from blood loss. He learned that the Hall of Natural Philosophy seems off limits more than other locations on campus > - Esh went to the rival undergrad bar, [[A Sharper Pen]]. She learned that all the steam tunnel entrances are blocked except the one near the dormitories > - Danya watched from the nearby woods. He saw many military patrols on the campus and some carriages carrying either people or smaller equipment > - Bryn prowled around but found nothing. > - My note don't say what Langham did, but he discovered that the Mastof family (nobles based out of Gurney) have been around a lot > > **Score Begins** > Darius navigates the tunnels with ease thanks to some marks that were left on the tunnel walls when he was a student. Inside the Hall of Natural Philosophy, they separate into two groups. > > **A Professor's Best Friend** > Langham and Darius head upstairs to the professor offices. They find a door cracked open with light spilling out with Dr. Jax inside. Professor Langham uses some faked shipping papers to get the doctor to follow him to the receiving area of the building. At the docks, Langham manages to distract the professor long enough for Darius's antics, but also accidentally inhales a small dose of trance powder. > > After they left, Darius acrobatically swung up to the top of the cabinets without alerting the other occupant in the office, Wilson, although he did manage to slice his hand open. Darius fed Wilson some meat laced with sleep powder. As the dogman drifted off to sleep he asked, "Am I a good boy?" > > "You're the best boy," Darius assured, and gives him some ear scritches. > > Darius bandaged his hand and took some papers regarding artificial starplasm and left, although he left some of his blood behind.... > > > **Basement Lab** > Danya, Esh and Bryn check out the lab in the basement. At the guard station, Esh convinces the guard to share some whiskey with her, although it turned out to be way more potent than she realized and the two became quite tipsy. Danya snuck up and conked the guard on the head, knocking him out. > > Inside the lab, they explored some of the experiments that were in progress. While tinkering with the equipment, some of the drug splashed on their skin, causing another crew member to be buzzed. Danya examined the partial carcass of a Starwhal and removed its horn for unknown purposes. > > Esh went and opened some of the large drawers that were on one wall. She discovered a corpse that came to life and grabbed her arm. Danya pulled out a rosary which had no effect on the zombie. Bryn thought quickly and used acid to sever the hand, though it remained grasped onto Esh's arm. The tried to close the drawer, but the remaining arm was still sticking out. As a team, they managed to ram the drawer shut. They heard more rumblings from the other drawers and decided to make their escape after grabbing anything they can - lab papers, drug samples, bits of Starwhal, etc. > > Esh was offended by the desecration of the starwhal and started pouring the remaining whiskey on it with the intent of burning. This is when the guards came in. Bryn had great foresight in rigging the door with a standstill powder trap which incapacitated the first guard. Esh drunkenly threw the empty whiskey bottle and it shattered well away from the guards. > > Meanwhile, Darius just entered the scene after his encounter upstairs.
