They engage him while also trying to get [[Princess Alayne]] to safety. [[Professor Langham]] and [[Bean]] both try to take on the assassin and take a lot of hurt - including a knife that remains protruding from the professor's chest for a while. In the throne room. [[Bryn]] managed to glue the princess's hand to his hsoulder on accident while [[Esh]] found the secret escape tunnel behind the throne. Esh also accidentally started a fire. But then the [[Blight Bombs]] fell. A cloud of gas spread across Stonetable, turning a few nearby courtiers into [[Blights]], and presumably the rest of the city. Bean killed the blights and then retrested with the rest to the escape tunnels. They decided they would make for [[The Lodge]]. In the interest of avoiding population centers, they chose a dangerous route down the mountain. At one point, Esh almost slips off of a narrow lodge, but the group worked as a team to rescue her. They encounter a pack of blighted out dogs. After a brief encounter, Bryn knocks down a nearby chunk of ice that crushes the dogs. They find 5 survivors that were injured by the dogs and craft a makeshift sled to bring them along. They come upon a mountain cabin occupied by a [[paranoid survivalist]]. They trade some of their blight antidote and appeal to his good will and get some supplies and first aid. The man removes the knife from Langham's chest and bandages him up. They offer the man the opportunity to join them, but he declines. At the bottom of the mountain. they are attacked by a giant [[Garrox]]. The beast picks up Esh with its horns as she holds on for dear life. Bryn blinds it with eyeblind projectile from their slingshot. Bean had set a spear and met the charge, impaling the beast, but not killing it. They make it to HQ and the story ends here.
